Learn more about our updated Terms of Service

Google
Updating Our Terms of Service
We're improving our Terms of Service and making them easier for you to understand. The changes will take effect on March 31, 2020, and they won't impact the way you use Google services.
For more details, we've provided a summary of the key changes and Frequently Asked Questions. And the next time you visit Google, you'll have the chance to review and accept the new Terms. At a glance, here's what this update means for you:
Improved readability: While our Terms remain a legal document, we've done our best to make them easier to understand, including by adding links to useful information and providing definitions.
Better communication: We've clearly explained when we'll make changes to our services (like adding or removing a feature) and when we'll restrict or end a user's access. And we'll do more to notify you when a change negatively impacts your experience on our services. We've also described how we respond to data disclosure requests, such as requests from government agencies.
Adding Google Chrome, Google Chrome OS and Google Drive to the Terms: Our improved Terms now cover Google Chrome, Google Chrome OS, and Google Drive, which also have service-specific terms and policies to help you understand what's unique to those services.
No changes to our Privacy Policy: We're not making any changes to the Google Privacy Policy and we haven't made any changes to the way we treat your information. As a reminder, you can always visit your Google Account to review your privacy settings and manage how your data is used.
If you're the guardian of a child under the age required to manage their own Google Account and you use Family Link to manage their use of Google services, please note that when you accept our new Terms, you do so on their behalf as well, and you may want to discuss these changes with them.
And of course, if you don't agree to our new Terms and what we can expect from each other as you use our services, you can find more information about your options in our Frequently Asked Questions.
Thank you for using Google's services.

Changes to YouTube’s Terms of Service

YouTube
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve transparency and communication, we're updating our Terms of Service ("Terms") in the European Economic Area and Switzerland and wanted to let you know about these changes.
We've provided a summary of key changes but here's a snapshot of what we've done:
Improved readability. While still a legal document, we've done our best to make the Terms clearer and easier to understand.
Improved transparency and communication. We've added some useful links to help you navigate YouTube, including links to YouTube policies and Help Center. We've also expanded our commitments to notify you about any changes that may affect you, such as future changes to the Terms.
Your Content. We've clarified the content license you grant us to make it easier to understand. We're not asking for additional permissions and there's no difference in how we're using your content.
Our product today. We've made some updates to better reflect the way YouTube operates. For example, we've removed outdated descriptions and provided helpful details about our service with links to the Help Center.
No changes to our Privacy Policy. We're not making any changes to the Google Privacy Policy, as the way we collect and process your data is not changing because of this update. As a reminder, you can always review your privacy settings and manage how your data is used by visiting your Google Account.
The new Terms will take effect on July 22, 2019 (see a preview). You will have the chance to accept the new Terms the next time you visit YouTube. If you would like more information, or if for any reason you don't agree to the new Terms and would rather stop using YouTube, you can find additional information in our Help Center.
If you allow your child to use YouTube Kids, or manage your child's use of YouTube through Family Link, then please note that when you accept the new Terms you do so on behalf of your child as well. Please take some time to talk to them about these changes.
Thank you for being part of our global community!

Changes to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Jesus Boone
We'll soon publish changes to our Terms of Service that may affect the Google services you use. Starting January 22, 2019, services offered under these terms will be offered by Google Ireland Limited instead of Google LLC. We're making similar changes to the Drive, Play, YouTube, and YouTube Paid Service Terms of Service. You can find our new terms here.
At the same time, we're also updating Google's Privacy Policy to specify that Google Ireland Limited will be the data controller responsible for your information and for complying with applicable privacy laws. These updates will take effect if you're based in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland (unless otherwise stated in a service-specific privacy notice). Our updated policy is here.
Nothing about your experience in Google services will change. And nothing is changing in terms of your privacy settings, the way your data is processed, nor the purposes of its processing as described in the Google Privacy Policy. However, if you don't want to accept these changes in our terms and Privacy Policy, you can choose to stop using the applicable services.
If you use Family Link to manage a Google Account for users below the age of consent, then please take some time to talk to them about these changes.
You can see and manage your data in the Google Dashboard. And you can always change your privacy settings and data controls anytime in your Google Account.
This email was sent to versedcongress1@gmail.com to provide an update about your Google Account.

Improvements to our Privacy Policy and Privacy Controls

Google
Updating Our Privacy Policy
This month, we're updating our Privacy Policy to make it easier for you to understand what information we collect and why we collect it. We've also taken steps to improve our Privacy Checkup and other controls we provide to safeguard your data and protect your privacy.
Nothing is changing about your current settings or how your information is processed. Rather, we've improved the way we describe our practices and how we explain the options you have to update, manage, export, and delete your data.
We're making these updates as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) takes effect across the European Union. Designed to harmonize privacy laws across Europe, the GDPR refines the transparency rules for how companies describe their data processing. We're making some required updates to our Privacy Policy, and we're taking the opportunity to make improvements for Google users around the world.
Making our Privacy Policy easier to understand
Simpler structure & clearer language
Simpler structure & clearer language
We've improved the navigation and organization of the policy to make it easier to find what you're looking for. We've also explained our practices in more detail and with clearer language.
New descriptive videos & illustrations
New descriptive videos & illustrations
Often a visual description is easier to understand than text alone, so we've added short videos and illustrations throughout the policy.
Embedded privacy controls
Embedded privacy controls
We've made it easier to jump to key settings directly from the policy, helping you make choices about your privacy.
The revised policy is available here and will take effect on May 25, 2018.
Improving your privacy controls
Within the past year, we updated My Activity so that you can better access and manage the data in your Google Account. We also launched a redesigned Dashboard, which allows you to easily see an overview of products you're using and your data associated with them.
This month, we've updated our Privacy Checkup with new illustrations and examples to help you make more informed choices about your key privacy controls. And since we understand that your preferences may change over time, the new Privacy Checkup enables you to sign up for regular reminders to check your privacy settings.
To learn more about these and other controls to manage your privacy, visit your Google Account.
